Description

Savé Valley Conservancy (SVC) is one of Africa’s largest privately managed wildlife conservancies, spanning more than 3,400 km² in the south-eastern Lowveld of Zimbabwe. Founded in 1991 through collaborative land stewardship by private, government, and community stakeholders, the Conservancy was created to restore and protect diverse wildlife habitats once dominated by cattle ranching. Today, SVC supports thriving populations of Africa’s iconic Big Five — elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino — along with giraffe, kudu, impala, hippo, rare African wild dogs, and over 300 bird species in natural savannah, riverine, and woodland ecosystems. The Conservancy prioritises sustainable wildlife management, anti-poaching efforts, community engagement, and eco-tourism, offering authentic safari experiences including game drives, wildlife tracking, birdwatching, and stays at private safari camps and lodges deep within the wilderness. SVC also undertakes conservation research, education programs, and initiatives that help local communities benefit economically while safeguarding biodiversity for future generations.
