Binga Sand Beach

Binga Beach is a serene natural lakeside destination on the shores of Lake Kariba in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. Hosting Zimbabwe’s only sand beach, it lies in the Binga district—home to the BaTonga people—along a scenic stretch of water framed by hills and the Zambezi River. Binga Beach offers a mix of cultural experiences, adventure and relaxation: think fishing, boating, hot springs, craft markets, swimming in calm shallows, lakeside stays in small lodges, campsites or self-catering chalets, and immersive BaTonga heritage tours. Despite being relatively undeveloped, there are active plans by the local authorities and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to upgrade facilities (better access roads, water & sanitation, tourist information, amenities) to bring the area up to international-quality standards.
